A pioneer of oregon bodybuilding

A Personal Trainer

Between 1960 and 2015, Cecil Phillips worked as a Personal trainer, massage therapist, and physical therapist at Oakway Fitness, the YMCA, Downtown Athletic Center, and Nautilus in Eugene, Oregon.  He also was a fitness equipment creator, with a patent on a range of motion device for the knee joint and a compression elbow sleeve.  Cecil enjoyed assisting others with their personal fitness goals along with motivating others to become their best.  He instructed Olympic lifting, Powerlifting, and Bodybuilding clients at the highest levels.

A Fitness Enthusiast

His most prized award was his "Best Back" trophy, that he received in his masters bodybuilding career.

A Mentor

Cecil coached and worked with many athletes, both young and old, inspiring them to pursue their fitness goals and was always able to keep humor in his demeanor.  He helped many people throughout his life achieve physical success and longevity.  Besides weight lifting, Cecil also enjoyed fishing and archery as his major passions.
